Report an issue with this species
Agathis is a genus of evergreen coniferous trees native to Australasia and Southeast Asia, known for their unusually broad leaves compared to most conifers. These long-lived, water-loving trees can reach impressive heights, dominating forest canopies in their native habitats, with some species like Agathis robusta growing up to 150 feet tall. They are characterized by light gray bark that sheds in flakes to reveal lighter colors beneath, and round seed cones, but are sensitive to drought and frost.
