Report an issue with this species

Platanus mexicana, also known as Mexican sycamore, is a fast-growing, medium-sized tree mainly found along riverbanks in mesic and tropical mountain forests, making it very flood tolerant. It is highly valued as a street or park tree for its attractive mottled white bark and lush, far-reaching canopy with bicolored, silver-underside leaves. This tree requires a moderate amount of water but is resistant to intense heat, arid climates, and bacterial leaf scorch.
