Chinese red birch is a deciduous tree known for its distinctive pinkish, peeling bark that reveals smooth white bark underneath. It is native to temperate Western China and is valued as an ornamental tree in park landscapes. While relatively low-maintenance, it is sensitive to drought, does not transplant well, and can be susceptible to aphids and borers.
