Pyrus calleryana is a slender-trunked, deciduous tree with an upright, often vase-shaped canopy native to East Asia. It produces white, odorous flowers in early spring, followed by yellowish-green to brown pome fruits that attract birds. Although widely planted, it is considered highly invasive in some parts of the US.
