Ulmus
Elm
Report an issue with this species
Elms are deciduous and semi-deciduous trees distributed across the Northern Hemisphere, including temperate and tropical-montane regions of North America and Eurasia. Many species were widely planted as ornamental trees, but mature specimens of European and North American origin have been significantly impacted by Dutch elm disease. Disease-resistant cultivars have since been developed for reforestation and landscaping efforts.
